DanceTastic Competition Policies
Outlined below is DanceTastic Studio’s Competition Policies:
- All students must be dressed in costume and full make-up with hair done at least 1 ½ prior to their scheduled dance time. Do not be late! Once you are dressed start warming up and rehearsing immediately.
- In case of emergency and you are going to be late for a competition, please leave a message on the studio’s answering machine 905-709-6092 (EMERGENCY ONLY PLEASE)
- All students are responsible to come prepared with all items outlined on the Important Competition Supplies Letter.
- All students should have each item of all of their costumes clearly labeled with their full name and studio in case items get lost or misplaced.
- No student should be sent alone to any competition. Teachers will not be responsible for babysitting, putting on make-up/changing dancers. A parent or guardian should accompany all students under 14. Younger students will definitely need help changing.
- Parents are welcomed to go out the audience to watch only after a teacher(s) have taken the dance group back stage. It is expected that once the group has completed the number, parents must meet backstage to pick up the student(s). Teachers will not be responsible for any students after they have finished their performance.
- Students should not leave the competition until after their group has been adjudicated and the awards have been handed out. We encourage students to cheer on other numbers and show their support for other DanceTastic Studio entries. Students must wear their DanceTastic jump suits to all competitions. Dancers who sit in the audience must cover costumes with jump suit. During adjudications ceremonies jump suits or costumes MUST be worn on stage
- All students and parents are expected to represent DanceTastic Studio in a positive manner by demonstrating good sportsmanship at each competition.
