The students accepted into our competitive company are taught separately from the recreational students and take part in classes dedicated to the competition program. Classes within the competitive program require a high level of discipline and commitment, as the dancers prepare to compete at numerous competitions throughout Ontario and strive to achieve perfection in technique and performance.
It is mandatory for the competitive dancers to enroll in Ballet, as well as our Strength and Technique class along with their competitive choreography classes. These mandatory classes are to develop the student’s technique and allow each student to learn more advanced steps, new dance tricks, and increase muscle flexibility at a faster pace throughout the duration of our competitive season.
There are strict rules and requirements that all members must adhere to avoid being removed from the Competitive Company. Attendance is a very important and is carefully monitored. There are also numerous extra rehearsals and additional shows/fundraisers that members may be required to attend throughout the duration of the dance season. All members and their parents are required to sign a Competitive Company Contract prior to the beginning of the competitive season.
